Wineries Near Dahlonega, Georgia

Seven distinct wineries — from Old World estate cellars to working farms with llamas — all within 15 minutes of our properties.

The Dahlonega Plateau AVA is one of the most distinctive wine regions in the country — elevation, granite soils, and cool mountain nights produce grapes with real character. Whether you're chasing Double Gold medal Cabernets, Sunday brunch views, or a glass of Norton poured beside a field of donkeys, the wine trail here has range. Both Reserve at Fireside and Falling Water put most of these wineries within a short, scenic drive.

Wolf Mountain Vineyards — winery near Dahlonega Georgia

Wolf Mountain Vineyards

Dahlonega, GA~10 min from our rentals

Built into a 1,800-foot mountainside and crafted with genuine Old World conviction, Wolf Mountain is the kind of winery that surprises people. The gravity-flow, tri-level fieldstone winery was built so wine never touches a pump — just altitude and patience. Winemaker Brannon Boegner hand-sorts every cluster, punches caps four times daily, and blends in the European tradition. The result: estate reds that have earned over 200 medals including Best-in-Class and Double Gold at the country's most prestigious competitions — the first East Coast winery to pull that off.

Three Sisters Vineyards — winery near Dahlonega Georgia

Three Sisters Vineyards

Dahlonega, GA~5 min from our rentals

The winery that started it all. Three Sisters is the founding family farm winery of the Dahlonega Plateau AVA — they were growing grapes here before "North Georgia wine country" was a phrase anyone used. The tasting room sits behind a hand-crafted cherry wood bar surrounded by local folk art and pottery, and the stone patio looks out over working vineyards and mountains. This is a genuine farm — not a resort. You might hear a tractor running. That's the point. Come for the relaxed pace, the honest pours, and the Fat Boy Red, which has become something of a local legend.

Montaluce Winery — winery near Dahlonega Georgia

Montaluce Winery

Dahlonega, GA~12 min from our rentals

Montaluce doesn't ask you to choose between a great meal and great wine — you get both, set inside a Tuscan-inspired estate perched in the North Georgia hills. Le Vigne, their flagship restaurant, earns its reputation: think Super-Tuscan blends alongside farm-to-table dinners with mountain views from the hilltop terrace. Their newer Trattoria serves hand-crafted pastas, brick-oven pizzas, and artisanal cheeses in a more casual setting. The estate also offers villa stays, a Chef's Table, wine hikes through the property, and fly fishing. It's the most full-service destination in the area — plan your evening around it.

Doghobble Wine Farm — winery near Dahlonega Georgia

Doghobble Wine Farm

Dahlonega, GA~5 min from our rentals

Named for the native Appalachian shrub that tangles along mountain streams, Doghobble is the newest winery in the area and the most refreshingly different. The 80-acre certified Dahlonega Plateau AVA farm started pouring in spring 2024, with a focus on American heritage grape varieties — Norton, Lomanto, Chambourcin, Catawba, Muscadine — the kind of hearty, Southern Appalachian varietals that are uniquely suited to this climate and produce wines you won't taste anywhere else. Their outdoor Trellis pavilion comes with firepits, vineyard views, Embers pizza truck on-site, and farm animals — sheep, donkeys, and llamas roaming nearby. It's casual, it's family-friendly, and it's exactly the kind of place you linger for a while.

Cavender Creek Vineyards — winery near Dahlonega Georgia

Cavender Creek Vineyards

Dahlonega, GA~10 min from our rentals

Owner Claire Livingston opened Cavender Creek with a clear intention: guests should feel like they're visiting a home, not a venue. That warmth shows. The 15-acre property features a historic 1820s log cabin, weekend live music, four distinct rental cottages for overnight stays, and a resident population of donkeys that have become so beloved they appear on every label. It's open 362 days a year, intentionally small in scale (no bus tours), and genuinely relaxed. The tasting flights move from dry to sweet, and the wine slushies are a warm-weather staple. If your group wants character over spectacle, Cavender Creek delivers.
